DILMAYA FOUNDATION DISTRIBUTES COMPUTERS IN DHADING

Dhading. Dilmaya Memorial Foundation (DMF) has distributed a set of computers to Shree Barah Kalika Higher Secondary School in Jwalamukhi village municipality of Dhading.

Khusi Limbu, Chairman of the foundation, said the aim was to provide modern education to children in the rural area so they have the opportunity “to learn and catch up the runaway technological world”.

The foundation was recently approached by Barah Kalika Higher Secondary School citing lack of physical infrastructure and resources to establish an e-library. The foundation collected Rs. 36,800 from its members and Rs 77,452 from its well-wishers.

The DMF handed seven computers worth the total amount of Rs.1,14,252 over to the school on Friday, the 5th of February.

Most of the students of Barah Kalika High School are from minority and marginalized communities. A total of 431 students studying in the school will benefit from this work thanks to 20 donors of the Dilmaya Memorial Foundation for this project.

In the handover programme held at the schoolyard, Shiva Aryal, Headteacher of the school, thanked Dilmaya Memorial Foundation for this gracious support. “We want to develop Baraha Kalika as a model school, and for that, we look forward to receiving more supports from organisations like Dilmaya Foundation”, said Mr Aryal.

 Likewise, Jwalamukhi Village Municipality Chairman Binod Timalsena also thanked Dilmaya Foundation for its support and said that the village municipality is ready to work in cooperation with the foundation in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Khusi Limbu, Chairman of the Dilmaya Memorial Foundation, has also thanked his foundation members and well-wishers for their support, and hoped for the same level of support in the future.

Established in the UK in 2017, Dilmaya Memorial Foundation has been sending financial assistance to Nepal from time to time. Most notably, the foundation had provided Rs. 900,000 to add a second floor to complete the construction of Sirise School building in Panchthar, rebuilt by the NRNA UK in 2017 at a cost of Rs3.5 million. The building, which is said to be jointly inaugurated by NRNA UK and Dilmaya Memorial Foundation has not been possible due to Covid-19 lockdown.
