Phone Pay Janakpur Literature Festival to be held in March

Janakpur: The second edition of Phone Pay Janakpur Literature Festival is going to be held with an aim to uplift Nepali literature. Organizer Nawa Mithila Foundation and Co-organizers Book Hill Publications and Sano Paila made the announcement at a press meet in the capital today.

The festival, which will be held in Janakpur for four days from March 3 to 6, will be attended by 45 speakers in 15 sessions on literature, music, cinema, culture, civilization, and politics. The sessions will be conducted by 15 facilitators.

“This festival will serve as an envoy for the upliftment of literature, civilization and culture of the Janakpur region. The Janakpur Literature Festival will play an important role,” said Lal Babu Raut, Chief Minister of Province No. 2, while inaugurating the declaration meeting.

Director of Sahitya Mahotsav, journalist Dil Bhushan Pathak said that the festival would help connect all Nepalis with literature and tourism. “At a time when social values ​​and ethics are disappearing, this literary festival will bring together readers of all classes and the general public in various debates and contribute to the reading culture of the country.”

Manish Jha, the coordinator of the festival, said that the success of the first edition of the Janakpur Literature Festival has brought it to the second edition.

Speakers from different regions of Nepal, including writers from India and Bangladesh will participate in the festival. The festival will be attended by poets, novelists, journalists, media personalities, actors, musicians, writers, politicians and others.

The festival will present a tableau of cultural and social life of Janakpur and the programs to be held in different parts of the city will add more liveliness! The organizers have requested to participate in the Janakpur Literature Festival to understand the seriousness of Maithil culture and taste the local food.
